| The
McMahan Fire Protection District uses money saving strategies to
stretch the buying power of the revenue receive from fire taxes. |
1.
Volunteer Manpower
Because the service utilizes volunteer manpower to provide staffing,
employee costs are very low. A staff of 7 fulltime and 7 part-time
career fire fighters provides basic administration and maintenance
duties, besides their primary function as fire and emergency medical
responders. Volunteer members perform all other staffing.

2.
Group Purchasing
In an effort to stretch every tax dollar, group purchasing is utilized
whenever possible. With 20 other Fire Protection Districts, there
is always someone else purchasing items that we need, thus allowing
us to "piggy-back" on their purchasing contract.
|
3.
Community Oriented Fire Protection
Decisions are made locally, of how your tax dollars are spent. Your
tax dollars are spent providing protection in the community where
you reside.
