The McMahan Fire District depends greatly on volunteer firefighters. These volunteers come from all walks of life, but share one common interest - at a moment’s notice; they put their lives on the line for the people of their community. If you have the longing to serve your community and you meet department requirements; stop by the Station and fill out an application.
Once you are accepted into our joint firefighter recruit program, you will be put through 18 plus weeks of intensive training. You will be given the knowledge and the tools necessary to perform the duties and tasks of a firefighter. Once you have been accepted into the program, you will be provided with standard issue firefighting gear and uniforms. The McMahan Fire District accepts transfers as well (provided your training records are up to date, you will be tested on your knowledge and put through a familiarization course on McMahan apparatus and Standard Operating Procedures).
